AI smart hardware

This year, Alibaba started to build Tongyi AI, and tried to apply the ability to different products, so does our department. We were the pioneer to put AI into smart hardware in China.

Challenge

We have 7 products and each of them has very different screen size and interaction mode. Besides, to interact with AI on smart hardware is needed to be explored.

Selection

AI for wearable

To use AI in our smart hardware products, it is a must to interact between smart phone and hardware. Phone is responsible for dealing data between hardware and cloud service.

AI for educational portable devices

The educational portable devices(听力宝) are mainly for children under 12 years old. Therefore, the UI design should be interesting, and the user experience should be as easy as possible.

UX tips for individual developers

From all these cases, I collected and summaried the size of screen, and their interact distance, primary/secondary font size/button, so that I can find out the regular pattern, and make it as a guideline for individual developers.
